Here’s your yearly reminder to please give to more accepting charities than The Salvation Army for the holiday season. They are vehemently anti-gay, refusing to give domestic partner benefits and even shelter to gay couples that are in need.
Some alternatives:
- HRC
- The Task Force
- State Based organizations (EqualityNC, Freedom to Marry NY, and GSE, for example)
- The Trevor Project
- Homeless Shelters for LGBT Youth, like the Ali Forney Center
